I always enjoyed school, which was a good thing - my father had a habit of joining companies just before they were taken over/folded so we moved around a lot and I went to 6 of them. I learnt at a young age how to parachute into unfamiliar situations and roomfuls of strangers and smile, say 'Hello!', and quickly get on with people.

I'm naturally curious. At 16 that meant how to get the most from my moped - that led to an engineering degree from Loughborough, where I also discovered a love of the outdoors, and did a lot of walking/climbing/canoeing. I worked for Ford and then BOC, working through a range of engineering roles including project managing the build of a chemical plant. Then the fascination with people kicked in. I became Production Manager sharing responsibility for a team of 70 in a plant facing closure. We embarked on a change programme which became a video case study for Cranfield and won global awards within BOC. The site's still working. The desire to share this passion for people and change lead to joining an 18 month old consultancy in World Class Performance tacked onto a trade body (a one man and a dog consultancy when I joined (I was the dog)). We grew to around 25 consultants in 2 years with me as Principle Consultant. Then the killer move - I became a Director in the larger business with all the nice 'trappings', but not doing what I loved - working directly with people as they embark on change. It was a great experience. I got 5 years of record results for the business - and very glum in myself. Lesson learnt.

I trained and became a professional executive coach. I love it. I give my time freely to the profession, and I'm President of the International Coach Federation in the UK. There are remarkable opportunities to work with great people all over the world. I regularly see people transform themselves as they engage in the coaching - and achieve greater results, more fulfillment, more balance and genuine enjoyment. I'm passionate about sustainability - and increasingly see how coaching brings sustainability closer to many.

The community is important - I'm a school governor with special responsibilities for Special Needs children. My wife is deeply involved with leading an inclusive theatre company for children of all backgrounds and abilities. We juggle a lot, and quite successfully! Though our house is not a show home.

My family are very precious. I've three children and 18 years of marriage.

So do give us a call, it’d be great to hear from you...
